About Polyacrylic Acid (PAA)
Polyacrylic acid is an anionic, water-soluble polymer with flexible chains and a high degree of ionisation from its carboxylic acid side groups. That gives ZEELCHEM™ 1000 high dispersing power and high charge density.
It is thermally stable up to about 200 °C, which makes it suitable for circulating cooling water in power plants, low- and medium-pressure boilers and high-temperature process water.
Synonyms: PAA, polyacrylic acid, acrylic acid polymer, acrylic acid homopolymer, acrylic acid resin.

Dosage and how to use
- Typical cooling water dose: 5–20 ppm active polymer, depending on hardness, alkalinity and cycles of concentration.
- Feed continuously to maintain threshold concentration; slug dosing is generally ineffective.
- Confirm dosage with water analysis (LSI / RSI) and jar testing.

Safety, storage and handling
- Acidic: wear splash goggles, chemical-resistant gloves and protective clothing.
- Ensure adequate ventilation; respiratory protection normally not required for closed handling.
- Add slowly during dilution or neutralisation. Do not eat, drink or smoke in the handling area.
- Store in closed HDPE containers in a cool, dry place.
