About AA/AMPS Copolymer
The carboxylic groups of ZEELCHEM™ 3100 provide scale inhibition and dispersion, while the sulfonic acid groups of AMPS add polarity and very high calcium tolerance.
It inhibits calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate and zinc scale, works synergistically with organophosphorus additives, and suits high-pH, highly alkaline water.
Key benefits
- Very high calcium tolerance
- Excellent calcium phosphate and zinc scale inhibition
- Disperses ferric oxide and suspended solids
- Stable in high-pH alkaline programs
- Synergistic with phosphonates and zinc salts
Also known as: acrylic acid AMPS copolymer, AA-AMPS, sulfonated copolymer, carboxylate sulfonate copolymer

Frequently asked questions
What is AA/AMPS copolymer used for?
Controlling calcium phosphate, carbonate and zinc scale and dispersing iron oxide in cooling and oilfield water.
Why choose AA/AMPS over PAA?
AMPS sulfonate groups give much higher calcium tolerance, so it works in hard, high-pH water where PAA can precipitate.
