Practical guidelines
- Start at 20–100 ppm active and adjust to foam severity.
- Severe or continuous foam: up to 200 ppm active, or continuous dosing.
- Light or intermittent foam: often 5–30 ppm active.
- High-temperature or high-shear systems may need slightly more.
- Optimise with trials – overdosing can cause surface defects and extra cost.
- Continuous or multi-point addition works best; pre-dilute emulsions if needed.
Exact dosage depends on grade, pH, temperature, shear, surfactant load and foam type. Follow the supplier TDS and run compatibility tests.
